No hurry Dre. What size tank do you have your breeders in?

I dont have any breeder at the moment. I sold them last october before I moved. I was down to 4 males and 2 females. The females were beat up and very small compared to the males.

I had them in a 75g. I tried to add some acei to act as dithers but the males were getting to aggressive. The problem is that the sub dom males looks just like the females but end up beating the females as well.

I have about 50 at 1.5-3" now. Working on getting another group going. I had about 8 good females marked out but when i moved they all went back in together.

I pulled out my biggest males for now so hopefully the rest will grow up some more. My suggestion is to grow the females up separate until the can get to 3" or so. Then put them in with the males. Lots of rocks and lots of distractions for the males. I thought an even sex ratio would be good but they end up killing off the extra males. I may even put them in a above ground poll this summer if the wife lets me get one out there. A round tub or vat would be ideal. The fish would not get cornered that way.

Thanks for the info.

I would like to try 1 male with about 6 females. I'm setting up a 60 gallon long with lots of rock. I'm going to have to go to Allen's and pick up more rock. I'll also grow the females out to about 2.5 to 3 inches.

Dre are you looking for anything?

more space. I got a bigger garage now and i seem to have less space!?!?!?

I am going to try some tangs soon. I am going to sell of some of my breeders and try some Tropheus and something else. I am also going to get some shrimp and guppies. HA

i need something easy in my life. i need to rebuild like 3 racks, or at least 2 three tier for 6 four foot tanks and a work table. I need to get organized man. I dont have much money but got to make it work. I got to scattered last year and need to focus in on a few species. I dont have time to sell a ton of fish that i can breed. so i am going to focus more on harder to breed species. I dont want to get stock with 2k fish like i did before. i need something managable and that will sell when needed. The vics are super nice but super mean, most people know that and stay away from them.

Besides the group here is doing so well with the shipment we brought in that i know where to get anything if i need it. Working at a fish store also kind of burns me out. all day long its fish fish fish, makes it hard to spend more time at home with fish.
