Finally i got my Vics and some other fisk from the area in my house. I have waited for several months for this moment.
The groups i got now are:

1+3 VF Haplochromis sp"#44 Thick Skin"
3+4 VF Ptyochromis sp "Hippo Point"
2+3 VF Astotilapia Burtoni (Lake Kivu)
1+1 Pundamilia Nyererei "Phyton Island"
2+6 Haplochromis "Kenya Gold"
3+8(?) Paralabidochromis "Rock Kribensis"

24 Haplochromis Aenocolor (tiny ones), Dont know where the location is on these.
20 Astatotilapia calliptera (tiny ones), Dont know where the location is on these.

I also have fry from my Thickskin group, Hippo Point and Kenya Gold.

Every group is in different tanks so i dont get hybrids.

It´s like christmas :)

Hi Celtex,
H.burtoni is from lake Tanganyika not Kivu
H.sp"rockribensis" is actually H.sauvagei
H.aeneocolor is from Katwe Bay, lake George and Edward
H.callipterus is from Malawi lake. burtoni and callipterus are not victorians cichlids even if they look similar in morphology.
good catch, congrats for yur new fishes.

By area i ment africa. :) I´m new in vics, but i did know that aenocolor, burtoni and callipterus is´nt vics.
Is there a new name of RK, or is it just to different fishes? Or is it just Haplochromis sauvagei "Rock Kribensis" ?
My "RK" and Kenya Gold is kids piced out from a large group that was bought from Alvin Ekenberg in Sweeden.

I´m only have fish from africa, so they can stay here even they not are Vics. Have ha group of Duboisis Maswa as well.

Thanks for the info by the way. As i said earlier, i am new to vics, so i need as much info as i can get :)

Hi Celtex, Albin has good strains, very nice rack
vics are cichlids from lake victoria but it seems that now, this name is applied to all cichlids of similar looking. It brings many to confusion, as there are some different lakes involved, each having a cichlids fauna of its own.
xris :)

Yes, so i heard.
I´m going to sell the fish thats not from lake victoria, so i´m going to have: Kenya Gold, Thick Skin, Rock Kribensis, Hippo Point and Pundamilia Nyererei in my rack. Think im going to have som fish from tanganyika also.

You can lower your level even with an HOB, you just get more noise from the rushing water. The rushing water also mixes in a little more air which can help with gas exchange.
