It's great that we will have a place to see pictures of both the male and female. It might be helpful for us newbies if there was pictures of the juvies. This way we have an idea of what they should look like when purchasing fish from someone as the color and patterns change as they grow. I think this will also help cut down the possibility of being sold hybrids as we would be able to identify the fry. Just a suggestion

The problem with juvenile pictures, and females for that matter, is that many look alike.

Its the same problem with Aulonocara peacocks.

Some breeders intentionally mix up the females, so you can't breed them true.
It happens with guppies too.

You often have no idea what you got unless you hormone them up, so they will present like a male.

With many, the females, subadult males, and juvie/fry will simply be gray fish.

Also, perhaps submit a picture that has both male and female in it.

I submitted my Avatar group shot that shows both.

We have 105 pictures submitted.
They should be moved to the species list by tonight.

When submitting pictures.

PLEASE give the scientific species name of your fish in both the IMAGE box and Pic De.scription.
these are the 2 boxes BEFORE you click BROWSE to upload your pictures.

If it says "Image 600" or "My stud fish", that does not really help to sort it.
I can't ID all Vics by looking at them, only just a few.

Max picture file size is 128k.
anything between 50 and 128k will look fine.

bigger won't go thru, smaller will be too tiny to look at.
thanks.

Just a reminder.

Everyone including new members, please update your species list, so we can know what species we all have.

Then, please be sure to add pictures to the profile section.
