Not sure if there are freshwater copepods or not, but it looks harmless. It is relatively big and does not resemble common parasites. It could be a white worm or something similar. I once found a clump or white worms in my overflow box in a tank. They are harmless and were living off the detritus that was passing through.

Thanks everyone I found this along with a tubifex strain in a tank after removing the inhabitants and refilling it. Just to see what would happen I gave the tank a heavy dose of salt and increased the temp to about 98, and watched the smaller ones (from the video) fall off the glass quickly after adding the salt. The tubifex were initially unfazed, and now in lower numbers but still their (possibly same numbers but in the filters). I don't mind the tubifex, and the others are fine, but I wanted to be sure any unseen nasties are gone before adding new breeders to the tank.

Thanks again, I am doing Discus now, but will be back in the US within a couple years (REALLY), and hope to start swapping or paying for some Victorians, so I hope COV continues to go strong! I would love to see some videos of current setups if you guys and gals have time! I know some of you have some great setups!!
