I have started using Dainichi XL Pro and their Color Supreme in 3mm. The NLS is just too small for some of my fish.

So far, the fish like both.

i fed dinanchi color supream and ultima. and spirilina flake andtetra cichlid chichlid crisps. they actually love the crisp. i also give bockchoy, romain lettuce or other dark leafy greens the just love to graze on it.
as for hi protine like krill brine tubifex, glass worms, i steer clear of all these i have found that with a high percentage of vics available here in the states most arent carnivores and they have rather long intestines. lots of protine can cause serious digestive problems.

Does anyone have a mail order source for small quantities of Dainichi foods? I can get it 5lbs at a shot but no one sells the smaller packets that I am aware of.

TR,

Is Neptunes a LFS? Do they have quality stock? Any Vics?

TR,

Found them and their site. Do they keep quality fish, thinking of swinging by their store this Tuesday for a look see?

I found some one on the east coast that carries Dainichi feeds. yourfishstuff.com located in NJ. They are a sponsor of East
Coast Cichlid Forum. I'm giving the two color varieties a try. The supreme I'll feed to my haps and I'll give the fx to my Vics.

Answered my own question as I was there yesterday. Great store, great people, great fish!

Sold out of most of their Vics that they had in stock.

One very handsome sp44. but he was too damn big!

Spirulina flake, earthworm flake, pellets, live black worms, frozen blood worms. The worms are just an occasional treat though.
Oh, and a mix of zucchini peas and carrots once a week or so.

When I use to feed earthworms, I would put them in damp corn meal for a couple of days. No live protein for my Vics but when I kept peacocks, they loved them!
