Oh sure, remind me that I once had 15 Haplochromis thereuterion, and now have Zero!

Neochromis omnicaeruleus Makobe, I once had 14, but now have 8, but they kill each other.
Not spawned yet, that i have noticed.

Paralabidochromis chilotes Ruti, started off with 4, and now i have the 2 pairs and a female fry growing up!
I killed about 20 fry in a tumbler, and the other 2 spawns fungused.

I just got some bad news on my Platytaeniodus degeni. Here is the message I got from Axel.

Hi Jim,

Marco had another contact with Ole Seehausen. And he said that the P.degenis of our strain are hybrids between P. degeni and Ptyochromis fischeri .. So we decided to make an end with this specie.
Sorry!
Greetings to your frontosas.

Best wishes
Axel

This is something that has been discussed in some length, but do not destroy your fish just yet.
Looking at Marco's web site http://www.welss.de/Platytaeniodus%20degeni.html there still maybe hope but would welcome some input. There is a Frenchman that has an old strain and has managed to breed these so all is not lost.
All of mine in the past showed too much red and i destroyed them.
hybrid between P. degeni and Ptyochromis fischeri http://www.ciklid.org/artregister/artre ... php?ID=487

I look upon this as a success story with those involved cooperating and acting to secure the future stock of degeni.
