I was at the Texas Cichlid Association/FOTAS auction and Greg Steeves brought some fish up from the hill country to auction. I went a little auction crazy, and bought some fish that I was not planning on. Since they were from Steeves, I thought it would be a pretty pure strain, and something new. Bad news is, I know hardly anything about them other than it looks like I have a young trio and they are a Vic.

So does anyone have any info on these guys, how mean/passive, size, behavior?

Congrats on your new fish :D They look beautiful in the pics I found of them. Being new to vics I don't have any 1st hand knowledge for you only what I could find in various articles. The following one seemed to have a fairly good write up about these guys...enjoy them and keep us posted on their progress

I have not had a chance to keep any of these yet. They seemed to be a very beautiful vic. I have read before they could be very aggressive.

I have kept these for quite awhile. They can be rather aggressive, but not as bad as others. My male would make it clear that it was his tank, but he didn't hurt his tank mates. They can get to be around 4 inches for males, usually a little smaller. The colors are amazing though. They are one of my favorite victorians.
