can someone tell me where makobe island is located in the lake? I was trying to google it and it does not exist. If google says it is not there, then i thin it may not be there..l. LOL

any tips as to maybe a name change or a local name would be great.

I couldn't find a map with it, but did find this within a scientific paper:

"We studied N. omnicaeruleus and N. greenwoodi at
two adjacent rocky islands located in the entrance to
the Speke Gulf in southeastern Lake Victoria, Tanzania:
Makobe (N. omnicaeruleus) and Igombe (N. greenwoodi)
(Fig. 1). The islands are separated from each other by
five kilometres of 40-m-deep water with muddy substrate.
While Makobe is separated from the mainland
by five kilometres, Igombe is <50 m from the mainland."

I love this site for locales...they even have loaded some locales with species found at that locale. I don't think the site is complete yet but its still a good resource.
