I moved my msobos out of their 75 gallon and moved in the Labrochromis ishmaeli. I did this about a week ago. I had notice the 75 was full of snails. They were on the glass on the sides of the tank all over the rocks ect..... They are even in the filter pads. After one week I can't find a snail in the tank. I have read that ishmaeli are snail eaters but WOW they all gone in one week. I'm doing a water change this weekend and I'll look real good to see if I can find any.

Hmmm, if it were me I would be tempted to keep rotating the snails to different tanks and harvest them for the Ismaeli.

which snails?? i have MTS and and nothing really eats them. my kenya golds dont even mess with them and i thought they were good snail eaters.

but i noticed that they grow in numbers when i am over feeding. when i cut feeding back they dwindle out.

you got any pics there bigjim???

yea i know about the assassin snails. i dont mind the mts, but i wish i had a good snail eating fish to feed them too. i dont think i will ever loose the mts but i need to get a good vic snail eater. i would like to get some hippo point salmon again. i hear they are the best snail eaters.

After see what they did to all the snails in their new tank, I don't think anything will match my ishmaeli.

Here is a picture of them in their new tank.

I seem to be going through a "snail-eater" phase.

My Ptyochromis sp. "salmon", Astatoreochromis alluaudi, and Labrochromis ishmaeli have all wiped out the MTS in their respective tanks. (And I hope to get some Hap Kenya golds soon.)
