How are/were Victorians collected from the wild? How could you know you've got the right females?

I know some lately have been collected by fishing for them, line and hook.

I think Hollow type plays a big role, as well as jaw structure and other defining features. Yes many vic females look very similar, but there are usually some sorta of differences. Mix ups happen in Malawi where the water is crystal clear and females have bright colors, so of course it happens in victoria. I think some of the more intense Victorian literature can answer your question better though.
