When I get back I am going big fern, so I will likely be happy to have some. The misses knows it too. When we come back I will likely devout a large garage to nothing but fish. I don't know what took me so long to realize I could do this on a larger scale now that I am no longer a kid, but I am glad I realized it.

Just make sure you build it with auto top offs and drains. water changes on lots of tanks suck!!!
Oh and they handle mbunas quite well!
Here is my dom male

A very nice fish with spunk and personality! His sand bower is now 8" tall  I need to add another 25lbs of sand to the tank yet again!

Very cool fish, and I found the sand pyramid building very interesting. If the cichlid bug hits my dad hard enough maybe I can talk him into expanding while I'm gone 8)

Oh and yes, I have been juggling back and forth between a drip system and a resevoir for weekly changes that will buffer and can have prime added... Truthfully I think I was over thinking the ammount of chloramine in the local water, and may go with the drip now. But it will still utilize the reservoir with carbon and coral. I think the bottom line is I need to go back to my backwoods cichlid skills, knowing that these fish are hardy, and a good planned reservoir and perhaps a couple carbon blocks inline should filter out enough of the meanies.

too be continued....

you can get one of those inline filters that people put on their main water line, they have ones that pull chlorine and chlorimines and heavy metals, they run $300-400 for the system and then just a yearly or 2x yearly cartridge change and your good!
And yes I did look into that
