To make a long story short me (Todd), his wife is in Japan. Everyone knows what happen in Japan and she and her family are OK, scared but OK. I just ask everyone to say a prayer for them, and everyone in Japan.

Hi everyone, thank you very much. I've been so busy getting ready to go to Japan and then this happened, I forgot all about COV for a few days as amazing as that is to me. My wife really was fortunate, not only are her and her family absolutely fine, it was her day off and she was eating lunch with a fellow nurse within walking distance to her home. Had she been working she would've had to walk about 15 miles through the city to get home since all of the trains lost power, and traffic was at a standstill. The home is fine too. The people in the north are the ones that need our prayers, best wishes and positive energy. I will be there very soon, and now the excitement I felt for going is mixed with sadness, and a bit of worry obviously.

Thanks again everyone,

I am now safely in Japan with my wife and our bunny, we are all safe, and there is a good bit of distance between us and the the hot spot. I literally didn't know for sure if I was going till the last few hours, and I did have to land in Narita which was a bit off putting since the levels are not being accurately listed there, but we made a quick journey to the west with very little traffic. It was definitely something seeing Tokyo with low lighting, There was a massive natural gas plant on our way home at night which has a huge vertical pipe for burning off excess gas, my wife has never seen the giant light blue flame burning out the top before now because the city is usually so bright. Wish I had my camera out at that moment. Kinda epic.

I am monitoring the radiation in all aspects from many independent sources, have my iodine, respirator's, water, food, and everything needed for ISHTF...(if ...... hits the fan.)

On a side note there was a fat ol bushy nose pleco in quarantine at narita, with some fat very colorful neon tetra's and a few other cool community fish. I thought about taking a pic, but thought if those were my fish in quarantine I wouldn't want someone freaking them out with a flash. Made me realize I really can bring some Fish next time I come though

I hope everyone and their families are well.

Oh and the Vics are safe in my brothers garage, we built some very nice racks, and he will be joining this forum soon. Please help him out and make sure he doesn't make them too fat. I will update soon too.

Todd

Thank you, and thank you.

I went to a general department store yesterday and was blown away at the selection of fish related stuff stuffed into a relatively small space. Huge bags of Hikari for $10 or less was also a cool surprise. turns out customs will allow fish with no inspection when flying from the US too... soooooo next time I fly I will be packed to the gills :P

Well Dre, that part of the country is much better off, though there is a steady flow of people making there way over there. I told my wife if S hits the F that will be where we go. It`s really not as bad as the media makes it out to be in most of Japan. Clearly the coastal area and anything nearing narita is not so well off. 1 hour in at narita currently equals 2 x-rays, though this info is listed in a way to make it confusing, as the surrounding areas it is compared to use a completely different scale so narita looks super low. Even fooled me the first time I checked. I recommend avoiding narita. BTW they are doing rolling black outs, and right now there is a loud voice over the emergency speaker in my neighborhood, this is usually saying there is a black out coming, but it is a bit un nerving not knowing for sure what the man is saying. I am just listening carefully for the word Tsunami. :| On that note I was just getting ready to go get some post cards for friends, which means I am heading for higher ground anyways. Safe travels to you and yours Dre.
