I ship mostly USPS Priority or Express. If you ship out Priority I would recommend you ship one fish to a bag. If you use Express you can ship more than one to a bag as long as they are very small, under 1 inch is best.

I would recommend you talk to your post master first and find out the pick-up times for Express and Priority mail.

Now that I am set up with sw air cargo I am trying to use them when the amount and/or cost of fish is worth it. Other than that it is all flat rate.

But shipping north from SW FL is a pain in the neck! "Do I use a heat pack and possibly fry the fish, do I not and have them possibly get too cold" I'm sitting in the 90's now and most of the country is still in snow, so it makes shipping way too sporty sometimes!

Not all of us has SW airlines. To ship American is $100 no matter what size the box. UPS and FedEx is $75.00 to $100 overnight. USPS is around $50.00 for overnight.

i use mostly fedex but have an act with discounts.

still i dont see how jim gets such good rates. i know he has 'the hookup' but still... for me to ship to him usps says 3 days for priority and the same size box costs me more to send to him then the other way around. usps is just crazy sometimes.

priority is a good way to go but you do have to check with the post master to see how much and when your packages will arrive to various destinations. for regular rates for overnight through fedex you might as well try airport to airport. but you usually need an inspection and all that to get setup. it depends on how much you are shipping out.

I do all my labels online at the USPS website. When using USPS you really need to talk to your postmaster and find out the pickup times. I have found that the smaller the post-office the better. All we do now is just walk in say high and drop off the box's. Here is the link to the USPS website.
