We have got 3 fish, 2males and 1 female, both males are approx 5-6 inches and the female is approx 4-5 inches. A friend has told me they are a Labrochromis possibly Ishmaeli or Stone, we can't find much info or pics about them but have seen the pic in Ole Seehausens book of the Labrochromis Stone and I think they are them, what are your thoughts please:

The Europeans would know better. I am always wary of naming a fish from a book, especially when there is no record of them in the hobby (in the US at least). I believe they were collected in 1992 and brought to Europe......
Normally with Victorians, the fish in the hobby was captured, studied, then released to hobbyists. More often than not the fish are captured, killed, preserved for easy storage/transport and studied later. These never make it to the hobby.
Alanastar from the UK I believe has posed this question and pics at haplochromis.org

Hi Caz,
Patients my dear,
Your pictures have been sent to Prof Ole Seahausen by xris - samaki.
Hopefully in time we will learn a little more about these fish.

Paul.

Hi I still received no answer from prof Ole but i don't despair, judging from the general body form, it seems close to H.sp"stone", the color distribution is not so clear but looking at the female morphology it seems very close to H.ishmaeli(the mouth form and body proportions) it wears a higher number of vertical bars than the fish described as H.stone in Ole 's book but this does no mean it's not this species.
be patient we'll have the respons.
xris :D
