Not sure where to put this, but I wanted to advise caution about Florida Exotic Fish farm. I work at a LFS, and I try to label things would they should be, or notice if things might not be what they say, and this source of fish to me is very questionable. I have seen multiple times where they sent us fish that were sold as something else, or I believe to be a cross of some sort.

We once ordered in P. "Blue Bar", and they were P. "Red Tail Sheller" (which has been renamed I think, but I could be wrong). At another point we ordered in X. Flamebacks, and they sent what appeared to be X. Kyoga Flamebacks, and this past time what we got was suppose to be P.Nyererei Anchor Island, and I have no clue what it is. So far their Obliquidens have been ok, and their Flourescent Piebalds, but on the whole I question a lot of their fish, and wanted to let people know about this experience. They are often incorrect about Malawi names as well, and I've noticed over the past two years many of the verticle bars on Malawi fish of theirs are horribly misbarred or the bars sometimes run together, especially on different Peacock or mbuna varieties.

So far anything labeled F1 or "wild" from their list has been very nice fish, but other than that, buy with caution.

When the Aquarium store near me switched from Old World Exotic to Florida Exotic I stopped buying anything from them.

Nuff said.

Actually pretty much. Usually the only thing I buy from where I work now is tropical fish or fish supplies. The sad thing is is that we know that there are better suppliers, but the owner won't let us switch. And to me it's very disappointing to unload 40-50 boxes of fish, and only be excited about 3 or 4 things we got in from Florida Exotic. When I first started, to me I was amazed at all the Africans we got from them, but as I've learned over the past year or two...there is a lot to be desired from them.
