So found the pond in a neighbors dumpster and got it in the ground today.

So far I have not spent a dime on this and I plan to do the whole thing that way  Plants will be local ditch plants. The 4 koi are being given to me. The 'filter' will be super ghetto! I'm thinking along the lines of a plastic coffee can with a bunch of holes and stuffed with some ghetto media and run by 2 powerheads that came with used tanks.

The air driven filter, made from a maxwell house coffee container! Have plenty of air and that's better to run outside than electric!

The plant pots are also going to be made from coffee cans! Those things are so darn handy!
Looks like I may end up with a total of 7 koi and one goldfish  Now my neighbor is giving me 3 koi and a fish buddy is giving me a goldfish  I need to start looking for another pond!

Congrats on the find. The pond looks like it's going to be very nice.

Very cool.
Though we don't have your wonderful florida temps, here in California there are some cichlids that can stay out year round.
I brought back some cichlids, plecos and cory's from south america, that can more than handle the temperatures we get in California.
Your pond has inspired me!
