I just got her today from a breeder I know. I got her home put her in the tank took a good look & O.o She was holding!
They appeared to be large enough so I striped her & got 17 fry or I think 17 kinda hard to count the little wigglers.

I took some very cute pics of the fry with her she is currently staying under the breeder net keeping an eye on them. A very devoted mom fish. ^_^
Fry & mom both started eating right away ^_^

I have never seen a OB female red zebra. It looks as if she spat out ob too.Congrats on the spawn.

Now I have to ask has anyone seen a OB red zebra? I had someone send me a picture of a OB male red zebra today. I did not know that Red Zebras had OB's.

I've seen them once or twice. I think Steve Lundblad had some at his store recently. He may still have them.

They have been around, used to be in stores in San Jose all the time about 10 years ago, mean little devils.
Don't see them too often now for some reason.

Alot of fish are sold in cycles, once the market gets saturated they get pulled off the market to build demand again.

I of course love all fish that are OB, and the red zebra OB are one of my favorite.

Can't say that they are any meaner than the regular red zebra in my experience anyway. the cobalt blue zebra was the worst a far as being mean. I guess it also depends on the individual fish
they also have a blueberry morph with blue spots not the brown/black I have been told that they are quite a bit more aggressive for some reason.

I see both the regular & the blueberry quite a lot here in stores but we have several local breeders (like the one that gave me the girl) that keep bringing them in too so they may not be getting them from a regular supplier they also have the OB & I think blueberry OB peacock & an OB or spotted polleni ? I see tr6 has them on his avatar. I see those from time to time.

I have the mom & the fry in a 5 gal with a small HOB filter they are in a breeder net & she is in the tank getting fattened back up before I put her back in the big tank.
I have a combo of medium sand, natural gravel & crushed coral with a lot of rocks to hide in in both the big tank & the fry tank
