Its a red turquoise (F) (Tiger) and a blue diamond (M) (scarface) They paired up the other night and I already have a spawn from them  The eggs probably wont last long because they are in the community tank but if they get to the wiggler stage I will be very very happy!!!!!!!!

very nice.
you could pull that intake tube and raise them yourself.
hatching and raising discus fry is very labor intensive i'm sure you know.

You could pull all the other fish in that tank and let the pair take care of the eggs without any disturbance.

If you pull the pair and eggs and put them in another tank, the pair most likely will eat the eggs.

I'm just going to wait and see if they get to wigglers, if they do I know I have a decent pair then I will move the pair once I get a tank ready for them. I know there is no easy way to save those eggs so on this spawn I'm not really going to try. They just paired up the other day so this is their first spawn, I hope they do well with them, if they don't I wont bother moving them to their own tank.

I really didn't have any intentions of spawning them, they are just my pretty fish in my only show tank, I guess I just got lucky!

That is something to be proud of. I have never raised discuss so I do not assume but I have read they are time intensive when it comes to spawning.

Next spawn I will worry about the fry.
As of this morning most eggs are still there with only a few going white, if they remove the bad eggs I will be very very proud of them. The way they fan the eggs is like something you would see in a cartoon! They will just use one pectoral fin to fan and keep them selves in one spot by using their tail, anal and dorsal fins. Its pretty funny looking.
I still need to find somewhere to put a 29g so I can give the pair their own tank......

The eggs all went bad, I'm guessing the male didn't do his job right.
Not sure who ate the eggs after they went bad but they are gone.
The pair is back to cleaning off the intake tube again.

Well they just had a 3rd batch of eggs yesterday! Prolific little buggers they are!
I haven't gotten wigglers from them yet but I do need to move them because they are turning into terrors!

And I picked up 2 little snakeskins the other day  I think I have been bitten by the discus bug
That's a pic of when I first got them so they still are a bit stressed there.

Yaaaa its an expensive bug to get bit by! Those 2 little guys cost $50 each
I have a feeling my 120g tall will end up turning discus once I find a suitable tank or tanks for the fish that are in there........
