I'm moving them to a different tank in with the adults in hopes of triggering a spawn, so I took a bunch of pictures. Not 100% sure on sex so if you know please chime in!

Ya I have MTS, pond and ramshorns. The zebras love to eat the pond snails and ramshorns though! Every time I clean the tank there is a pile of empty shells!

My kids teachers have turtles, so every week I send a Tupperware full of snails in with them for the turtles, it is a good way to thin the numbers.

Nice i had 13 WC adults, but i lost them all.
I have since bought another 6 adults, and 2 juvies.

Those are too small to sex.
Males have a broader head, females more narrow.
males body will be triangular from head back, females a bit rounder, though a fat male will be round too.
males will have more curved pectoral fins vs. female.
males pectoral fins will be longer in relation to pelvic fins, females closer in size.
males will have more odontodes.
males like to hide more, females will be a bit more active.

I have a male and female WC adults. Its been about a year with nothing from them so I'm moving them into a 30g with those 3 younger guys, they are F1.

The hiding is new info for me, 2 of the younger ones are out and about quite a bit..... I'm really hoping most of the younger ones are females.

Out of curiosity how much did the adults and juvies cost you? My Juvies at just under 1" cost me $75 each, I had 5 but lost 2 when I had to pull an 85hr work week and I had my BF feeding everyone..... So I know an inkling of your pain, That had to have really really hurt to lose a colony like that!

mine were all adults, at over $300 each.
back in the day adults could be found for $35 each, then they went all the way up to about $500 each.

Now adults are running about $200 for "wild caught" which i highly doubt they are really WC due to the high volume and small size that are coming in, but at any rate, its still a deal considering where the price was for ANY filial generation of zebra.

Never let anyone feed your fish, its far better to fast them.

I believe my WC adults were from someones tank, they stocked up before the ban. They are pretty good size and nice and fat, so where every they came from they were happy and healthy there

Ya My Bf never feeds my fish any more, I have my father come over to feed them if it will be more than 3-4 days and he under feeds, he is the reason I have MTS so bad

Lovely fish and good luck with them, they're one of the most expensive Plecs on the UK market.
