Hi,

I'm a 29 year old man from norway, and i'm wondering of starting with Victorians or Tanganyika.
I have a 190 Gallon, so it's going to be some heavy ******** with rocks in it.. ;)

I haven't had any fishes from this places, so i have to read a lot in here.. I have just had Cichlids from South-America, so i'm excited too start with something new.

welcome!!

there are many great choice of fish that can go in that size tank. tropheus, frontosa, feather fins, pundamilias, and many more. you can get the super aggressive vics in that size tank as well. it is up to you really.

pick one species you really like and build the tank mates around that one species.

Hi, i have a 190 gallon with a mix of vics and a few malawi haps.
with this volume you can keep bigger groups of fish which reduces the chances of hybridizing but does not completely rule it out.
I have neochromis omni makobe 4 males 6 females, Pundamilia sp."red head" 5males 6 females ,Astatotilapia latifasciata 4 males 7 females.

these have lived together for over 3 years with few problems but i do not keep fry from the "red heads" but do the neochromis and no problems with crossing.
I have just added Paralabidochromis chilotes zue, Astatoreochromis alluaudi all 10cm+ and young Pyxichromis orthostoma 6cm.
This is not ideal and cant recommend it but so far 4 months with no problems.
If i wish to breed my fish i place them in a 50-60 gallon species tank, i have little interest in these fish in the UK so no need to save many.

I have a friend in Aberdeen who may be able to help you with some fish :D

Hi again.

I ended up with Tropheus Moliro and black pemba in my aquarium. But then i sold the tank.
But tomorrow i´m going to get a 240 Gallon aquastabil effectline.

I´m going all in for vics this time, and i really need some help to pick a group of fish that i am going to start with.

I´m looking forward to start with this project..

I really dont know yet. I am reading about the different species.
I have heard that there is very good quality on the fish in Sweeden to. Nold Ciklidhobby.
It´s just 5 hours from where i live.
