Hi Im new here. I would like to breed my christmas fulu's but a problem Im having is the females are dying. no males. I have a blue lobster in the tank, but I put elastics on his claws. Could the lobsters presence be scaring the females to be sick, then die and eaten at night? any suggestions how to keep and make sure my xmas fulu's are fit and heathy to breed.?

most of the strains of xystichromis phytophagus that i have seen are good at spawning and holding the eggs. i would make shure the water parameters are correct. also it may be male fulu killing the females. and i would not recommend the "blue lobster" even with the primary claws closed they can still catch and eat sleeping fish.

good luck and keep us informed.
