Tek,

I'm going to order some day glows from Dave as soon as the weather warms up. Probably also interested in the sp's, haven't seen them offered before from him.

I am also waiting for the warmer weather as well for my shipment from Texas.
Xystichromis phytophagus Lake Kanyaboli 'Christmas Fulu', Paralabidochromis chromogynus "Zue Is."
are confirmed. Waiting to here if my friend in France breeds his P. sp. "Redhead Zue Is" and can get them to Germany before Axel has the shipment set up, I do have a plan "B" as well.
I live close to the major east coast air shipping port with a huge animal import quarantine compound. This is the launching point for most military flights to Germany. Likely a lot cheaper to ship to here than to SanFran. I'm not set up to receive 600+ fish even if they are fry... Allen & Jim need a tank for each bag/species for the lay over in San Fran.... Sounds like a big mess that a half dozen people should be doing....
Looking at the P. sp. "Redfin Piebald", a piscavore, and a snail eater/rockcrusher type as well. If John (Bovsbaitbox) gets the P. "Red Rock Crusher" And it looks like a few people want the P. chilote, I will hold off until someone breeds theirs or has some spares. (might be a while). I was hoping to put together a Zue Is. biotope of sorts.

sound nice teknial.

and yea i was trying to set up receiving the fish here but it is a lot of fish and i could not acquire a space suitable for them. i was trying to see if someone would guarantee me use of the farm for fish.

that was before the big freeze though, i bet now more would let me just to get some extra cash in. although they probably want payment in fish, lol, NOT HAPPENING!!!!!

I will have 10 tanks open when the fish come in Allen is going to have about the same amount. Then we could use the rubbermade bins for the rest.

There are a couple of people who have red fin piebalds for sale.
I have about 50 fry right now from my group from Old World in my Avatar.

This was the only fish i wanted when i went on my florida trip to visit Old World.
well, i would have also took his Moba colony to add to mine!
And his OB slims.

I got 2 little batches of red fins growing, one with high piebald markings, and the other has much less.
I'm a huge OB fan, so i'm trying to bring out more markings, bummed though because my high marked male jumped out.
will see if the next male in line darkens up.
He does have a nice orange, though not alot of markings.

I'm not a big fan of the pink flourescant piebalds, but then again I hated the line bred red Peacoks... until I got some. I was told line breeding was the equivalant of hybridization when I first got into the hobby. Which is one reason why I was a bit adamant about separating the and clarifying the point in the other thread. After getting the A. Rubescene line, and reading volumes, it was easy to see an A. stuartgranti "Chipoka" in my tank instead of a red hybrid Peacock.
I don't know much about the sp. redfin piebalds, so it is tough to figure what to get. It would be nice to know when the fish arrived in the US and who got them. I do get a bit wary of large scale pond grown/bred fish and seem to like fish from small operations/dedicated hobbyists. Cichlids can live a long time in captivity and a speciman may still be breeding ten years. My thought is that the small group of tank bred fish may offer more consistant spawns than a pond bred colony as there may be not as much culling of poorly marked or even deformed specimans that can pass their "issues" into the generations.
The male that Rare Dave displays on DRAF is awesome though.....

Old World has been raising pink flourescant piebalds over 20 years. It was one of the Vic's the they brought in during the early 90's. Chuck Rambo talked about these pink flourescant piebalds at the PCCA meeting in Dec.

Has Chuck published his talk? I would be interested in reading it. Perhaps we can coax him into publishing here... Wink

Tr6, Chuck is your buddy. Do you think it's possible to publish his talk on the forum?

Chuck gave me all his presentations on thumbdrive, though i have not asked if i can publicly show them.

As far as him coming here, he does not really do the internet forum thing.
He does not even go to ACA or Juan Miguels site, those would be the first 2 he would do.
